What we did

From December 5 to 7, 2022, the Food Africa 2022 International Food and Beverage Exhibition took place in Cairo, featuring the Russian national "Made in Russia" exposition. Over the three days of the exhibition, participants held more than 200 b2b negotiations, with export potential estimated at more than $21 million.
Key partners in the Russian b2b program on the Egyptian side included companies such as the major retail chain Carrefour, one of Egypt's leading food retailers Gourmet, the wholesale division of Lulu Group International Al Tayeb, Egypt's leading retail goods supplier Metro Markets, bakery market leader Edita Food Industries, Gourmet Foods — the largest supplier of quality food products to the hospitality, airline, and restaurant industries — and Euro Comm SA, a commodities trading company that has been engaged in international grain trade since 1995.
The exhibition's business program included a roundtable with the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nikolai Yurievich Aslanov. The meeting addressed issues relating to the export potential of goods in the Egyptian market as well as challenges related to food exports. A roundtable was also organized with Ehab Mourad, acting director of the Egyptian Food Safety Authority, the body overseeing food imports and exports.
